Typical Umbrian restaurant – Castiglione del Lago (PG)

Traditional Umbrian cuisine

Restaurant with Umbrian cuisine in Castiglione del Lago PG
Lanterna Rossa farmhouse in Castiglione del Lago, in the province of Perugia, complements this holiday offer with many wine and food proposals offered by its restaurant.

Arisen on a structure built from scratch, our farmhouse’s restaurant offers a regional menu with typical Umbrian cuisine specialities, interpreting traditional recipes with a modern twist, without distorting them.

Food and wine is one of the strongest Umbrian tourist attractions and our restaurant fully meets this demand: our dishes are prepared with high-quality, carefully selected products as well as raw ingredients that come directly from the farm’s produce, such as the fish and game, and the farm and barnyard animals bred and raised by us on the farm.

Among our specialities are fresh, homemade pasta dishes such as tagliolini, tagliatelle, pappardelle, pici, lasagne, ravioli and gnocchi, served with hare, garlic, tench, crayfish sauces among many others. On our menu, we also offer specialities of venison, wild boar and freshwater fish, such as eel soup and skewers.

High-quality products

To prepare our dishes, as well as using our farm’s raw ingredients, we also use products supplied by Umbrian manufacturers and processors such as the fishermen’s cooperatives that provide us with freshly caught fish from Lake Trasimeno.

The meat specialities, such as wild boar and pork, come from Salumificio Renzini, leading farmers in Umbria, as do the pecorino cheeses, like “pecorino di fossa”, “pecorino ubriaco”, “pecorino alle vinacce” (with pomice), pecorino “foglie di noce” (with ground walnuts), pecorino “foglie di fico” (with fig leaves), and pecorino “tartufo” (with truffle).

The truffle and related specialities come from the Guiliano Tartufi farm, all enhanced by both the wines produced from the grapes of our vineyard, such as the Grechetto, Merot, Chardonnary, Cabernet Sauvignon, and by the wines from the Goretti wine cellar.

The organic oil, used to season dishes at the table, is produced from olives cultivated on our land.
